Police arrest 16 in Laguna drug den

SAN PEDRO CITY – A buy-bust operation led to the arrest of 16 people in what police said was an illegal drug den in Calamba City in Laguna province on early Sunday.
Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, director of the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (CALABARZON) police, said the arrest was made at about 2 a.m. at the home of one of the suspects, Jayson Parelez, in Barangay (village) Parian.
Eleazar said that shortly before that, the police arrested Ariel Homo in a buy-bust operation also in the city.
Homo then led the authorities to Parelez’s house where John Kevin Monzon, Joselito Parcon, Raymond Hatuan, Edgar Malabanan, Jackson Gatonga, Leandro Martizo, Arbey Villar, Christoper Badeo, Dennis Zamora, Richard Carao, Ernesto Valencia, Joel Logo, Paolo Ripil, and Cristina Alvarez were caught using suspected “shabu” or crystal meth.
The police recovered 12 sachets of shabu from the suspects and other drug paraphernalia. /cbb
