BAGUIO CITY — Police Director-General Oscar Albayalde on Friday (May 4) met police officials of the Cordillera, Ilocos and Cagayan Valley regions to discuss security measures for the May 14 elections and to warn them to “toe the line.”

“This will be the first and last time that I will talk to them. The next time would be either to remove them for not doing their jobs or hopefully promote them for a job well done” said Albayalde, chief of the Philippine National Police, before he convened a command conference at the Baguio Country Club.

Albayalde said the warning was in line with a PNP cleansing initiative to ferret out and prosecute the organization’s scalawags.

His visit coincided with the start of the campaign period for candidates of the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
