“Heart-stopping” would describe the latest Avengers installment—especially the movie’s final scene. But this unfortunate incident probably wasn’t what the Russo brothers, the movie’s directors, intended.

Tragically, a 43-year-old moviegoer in India died during a screening of “Avengers: Infinity War” and was discovered dead only after the end credits rolled, reports the Times of India.

During a 3D screening of the movie, theater attendants thought that Peddapasupula Baasha, who works as a mason, remained in his seat for Marvel’s well-known post-credits scene.

When he didn’t flinch even after the credits were over, they approached him and removed his 3D glasses to find that he had died with his eyes open.

Proddatur city’s rural police were called to investigate the scene. Initially, police believed that Baasha had died of natural causes or a heart attack. The case was still under investigation.

This isn’t the first case of a death in a moviehouse. Last March, a 24-year-old in the United Kingdom died in a freak accident when his head was trapped under the seat’s electronic footrest.

In 2016, a 65-year-old man in India had a heart attack during a peak scene of “The Conjuring 2.” Even more odd is that a paramedical staff and the body disappeared while the latter was being transferred to another hospital.  Niña V. Guno /ra
