2 motorcycle riders die in Quezon collision
LUCENA CITY – Two motorcycle riders died in a road accident in Lucban town in Quezon province before midnight Wednesday, police reported on Thursday.
The victims, driver Rommel Faller, 32, and his back rider William Martinez, 37, were traveling along the national road when they accidentally collided head-on with a Toyota Grandia van in Barangay (village) Tinamnan at 11:20 p.m., Chief Insp. Alejandro Onquit, Lucban police chief, said.
A report, quoting van driver Louie Bariuan, 51, said he saw the motorcycle heading towards his lane that prompted him to turn his steering wheel to the left to avoid the collision. But the driver of the ill-fated motorcycle also turned his vehicle to the same direction that resulted in the accident.
The van driver was detained at the town police jail. DELFIN T. MALLARI
