After being sacked, the three policemen who were caught on camera confronting a man after a traffic altercation have been charged before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office for oral defamation, grave threats, and violation of the election gun ban.

The policemen were identified as brothers Police Officer (PO) 3 Ralph Soriano of Northern Police District, PO1 Reniel Soriano of the Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) in Camp Crame; and PO1 Rendel Soriano of the Caloocan Police Station.

In a press briefing, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Dir. Gen. Oscar D. Albayalde said the three are now in restrictive custody at the Holding and Accounting Area in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The brothers are the subject of a set of viral videos showing them confronting a man, identified as Ricardo Malaya, at his residence.

The videos show the brothers in plain clothes with pistols tucked at their waists.
