Cops kill 4 crime suspects in Rizal, Laguna
SAN PEDRO CITY – Four people were killed in separate shoot-outs with the police in Rizal and Laguna provinces, the regional police chief said.
In Laguna, police received a report that two men on a motorcycle robbed a gasoline station in Barangay Bacnotan, Calamba City, according to Calabarzon police director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar.
The police immediately set up chokepoints until they spotted the suspects along the Bypass Road in Barangay Bucal around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Instead of yielding to the authorities, the suspects fired shots, prompting the police to shoot back and kill them both instantly.
Eleazar said recovered from the scene were a .45 caliber gun and an improvised shotgun. The police have yet to identify the slain suspects.
In Cainta town, Rizal province, two suspected gunmen also died in a police shoot-out around 8:45 p.m. Monday along Ortigas Avenue Extension in Barangay Sto. Domingo.
Article continues after this advertisementEleazar said police patrolling the vicinity heard gunshots and when they responded to the scene, they saw a man, later identified as George Domantay, lying on the pavement while a motorcycle sped away.
Article continues after this advertisementThey police chased the motorcycle towards Taytay town just as when the suspects began to open fire. The police shot back and killed both riders.
The police have not yet identified the gunmen but said they recovered a .9mm and a .45 caliber gun.
Domantay, a local butcher, was rushed to the Takano Hospital in Cainta but was declared dead on arrival.
