DOTr stands by decision to dismiss LTFRB’s Bicol chief

The Department of Transportation stood by its decision in dismiss Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Regional Director Jun Abrazaldo over alleged involvement in corrupt activities.

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said in a statement on Monday that no one is spared at the department when corruption is involved as he is only following the orders of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Citing the report of LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra III, Tugade said the case against Abrazaldo was based on reports obtained by the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA). There were also several reports from the DOTr.

Tugade insisted that while Abrazaldo was a presidential appointee, the order for his dismissal came from President.

Delgra clarified that there were no personal issues were involved in Abrazaldo’s dismissal. “Naghuhumiyaw na ang mga reklamo hindi pa ba natin aaksyunan (The complaints are piling up. Aren’t we going to act on this)?,” Delgra said.

Albrazaldo also accused Delgra of corruption and challenged him to resign his post. /ee
