An intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the southern Mindanao, the state weather bureau said on Sunday.

To be affected are Soccsksargen, ARMM, and Zamboanga Peninsula, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its morning bulletin.

Pagasa warned residents of these areas against possible flooding and flashfloods brought by moderate to heavy rain.

Meanwhile, the agency said the easterlies would continue to bring warm weather to the rest of the country.

Despite this, the Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms, Pagasa added. /cbb
