Bulacan village chair killed by motorcycle-riding men

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, BULACAN – A village chairman, who is ending his term in office, was gunned down on Tuesday morning (April 24) by motorcycle-riding men, while he was buying rice from a store near his house in San Rafael town.

The two men drove up to Rodrigo Rodriguez of Barangay Mabalas-balas and opened fire, said Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police director.

He was rushed to the Rugay Hospital in Baliwag town but was proclaimed dead there.

The police have yet to explain why Rodriguez was killed. CARMELA REYES-ESTROPE /lb
