Law enforcers arrested on Saturday a man who was carrying P15 million worth of crystal meth, or shabu, in a buy-bust operation on Roxas Boulevard in Manila.

In a spot report, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspect as Jason Chen, 37, married, who was arrested near the Service Road at the corner of Pasaje del Carmen and Roxas Boulevard at around 7:30 p.m.

PDEA agents and Manila police officers seized from the suspect three transparent plastic packs containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.

PDEA estimated the value of the drugs, weighing more or less 3 kilograms, at P15 million.

Also seized from the suspect were a white Hyundai Tucson and the marked money used in the operation.

Chen was immediately brought to National Capital Region headquarters of PDEA documentation, proper disposition, and further investigation.

A complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165) was being prepared against the suspect. /atm
