Operations at the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) were briefly disrupted after a northbound train sustained an “electrical failure” on Friday afternoon.

MRT-3 media relations officer Aly Narvaez said 300 passengers were offloaded at Quezon Avenue Station after the train suffered an electrical failure in its motor at around 4:19 p.m.

In an advisory, Narvaez said that worn-out electrical sub-components may have caused the train’s power failure. The train will undergo preventive maintenance and replacement of components.

Offloaded passengers boarded the next train which arrived at the station six minutes after the incident. /jpv
