Suspected Cavite-Pasay drug traders face raps
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed charges against five drug suspected dealers arrested in two operations in Cavite.
NBI Director Dante Gierran announced Wednesday that the suspects would be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165)..
The suspects were identified as Maynard Alfaro, a former chairman of Barangay 134 in Pasay, and his brothers Jonathan Alfaro and Archie Alfaro, Romeo Laurenaria Jr., and Henry Moyano.
They will also be charged for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (R.A. No. 10591) – that is, the gun ban now being imposed by the Commission on Elections.
The arrest was made through the power of a search warrant issued by the Branch 89 of the Regional Trial Court of Bacoor, Cavite.
Last Saturday, law enforcers, armed with a search warrant, found illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, live ammunition, and various identification cards on the property of Jonathan Alfaro and a .40-caliber pistol in his car.

Gierran said the operations were coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
They were conducted based on information they had gathered about the Cavite-Pasay drug trade which is allegedly controlled by the Nanad Group, apparently led by the Alfaro brothers.
The group was said to be using a hideout in a posh subdivision in Cavite to sell different illegal drugs such as crystal meth (shabu) and marijuana. /atm
