BIR topples Alegria-LGU in friendly match of Mayor Guisadio basketball
THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)-Cebu routed the Alegria-Local Government Unit (ALGU), 99-78, Saturday night in a friendly match that highlighted the ongoing 2nd Emilita Guisadio Cup-2011 basketball tournament at the Alegria Sports Complex.
BIR jumped to a, 27-16 start behind Jason Rodriguez who scored all of his 11 points in the opening canto and Kim Valenzuela. Alegria countered with a, 24-23 run in the second as BIR took a, 51-39 lead at the half.
BIR was at its fiercest in the third quarter where it grabbed a massive 20-point lead and was never threatened the rest of the way.
Kim Valenzuela and Leo Galvez led BIR with 15 and 14 points, respectively while Jerson Espinosa and Cris Diamos added 12 points each.
James Petralba and Flor Mauro paced Alegria-LGU with 22 and 14 points, respectively.
