Magnitude 3.3 quake hits Batangas

A magnitude 3.3 earthquake jolted Calatagan, Batangas on Tuesday afternoon.

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the origin of the tremor about three kilometers west of Calatagan.

Phivolcs said the earthquake was tectonic in origin and its movement has a depth reaching about 185-kilometer deep.  No significant damage has been recorded as of posting time. /jpv
