P200K worth of property lost in Parañaque fire
A fire broke out in Parañaque City around midnight on Saturday, causing P200,000 worth of damage to property.
Although no people were hurt, six buildings, including a commercial center housing a bar and salon, near the corner of Quirino Avenue and Dimasalang Street in Barangay Baclaran, were affected.
A report from the Bureau of Fire Protection in Parañaque City said the blaze started in a textile shop at 11:48 p.m. on Saturday.
It reached the third alarm five minutes later before it was finally put out at 2:13 a.m. the following day.
Chief Insp. Wilson Tana, BFP-Parañaque investigation head, said the flames quickly spread because the structures were old and made mostly of wood and other light materials.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation. —Dexter Cabalza
