P100K worth of drugs seized in Parañaque
A 31-year-old man was arrested after more than P100,000 worth of crystal meth or “shabu” was confiscated from him in a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City on Friday. Aiman Baraguir was arrested after selling a sachet of shabu to an agent of the Parañaque Police Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) at 2 a.m. on Football St., Barangay San Antonio. Also arrested was Johaima Ali, 35, who also bought a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 from Baraguir. Police seized 102 sachets of shabu worth P102,000, said Senior Insp. Teener dies of electrocution in QC
A teenage student died after he was electrocuted in Quezon City on Thursday night. Police said Joseph Rivera, 17, left his home in Barangay Bahay Toro around 3 p.m. to swim with six classmates in a pool at Magnolia Place along Tandang Sora Avenue in Barangay Talipapa. Around 8 p.m., the victim was getting out of the pool when he accidentally slipped. He reportedly clung to lit garden lights hanging around a tree and was electrocuted. The pool attendant immediately switched off the lights and rushed the victim to RLCF Mother and Child Hospital. Rivera was declared dead on arrival.—JHESSET O. ENANO
Man stabs live-in partner’s mother out of jealousy
A man stabbed to death the mother of his live-in partner early on Friday in Quezon City, allegedly out of jealousy. The Quezon City Police District identified the suspect as Louie Masangkay, 33. Investigation revealed that Masangkay was jealous that her partner, Christinelle Ubongen, allegedly had an affair with another man. On April 9, he allegedly threatened to kill her and her family. On Friday, Ubongen’s 47-year-old mother Myrna and 24-year-old brother Raymart were sleeping inside their rented house on Caragay St. in Barangay Damayan, where the suspect also lived. Around 3:10 a.m. Masangkay suddenly stabbed Myrna on the face while she slept. A startled Raymart tried to stop the suspect, but he was also stabbed in the stomach.—JHESSET O. ENANO
Fetus found inside Muntinlupa terminal garbage bin
A fetus was found in a garbage bin inside a transport terminal in Muntinlupa City on Thursday. In a report to city police chief Senior Supt. Dionisio Bartolome, a certain Noe Orale was about to collect trash from one of the garbage bins at South Station terminal in Barangay Alabang at 12:50 p.m. He noticed the “unusual weight” of the trash when he picked it up, prompting him to look at its contents. He found a dead female fetus, around 5 to 7 months old, with its umbilical cord and placental still intact. The fetus was turned over to personnel of Barangay Alabang, who brought it to the San Roque Catholic Church for final blessing, before it was interred at the Muntinlupa City Public Cemetery.—DEXTER CABALZA AND JONNABETH ORTEGA
