Joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police on Friday discovered and dismantled an illegal narcotics laboratory in Malabon City used to produce crystal meth and ecstasy.
PDEA chief Dir. Gen. Aaron Aquino said members of the PDEA National Capital Region raided the laboratory located at Barangay Tinajeros, Malabon City.
Authorities arrested Chinese man Jiang Minshan and his Filipino driver Lauro Santiago.
They also recovered suspected ecstasy, chemicals, including Safrole, the main ingredient used in producing ecstasy, and several other paraphernalia.
Aquino said the raid was a follow up operation to the recently-dismantled clandestine laboratory and warehouse in Ibaan, Sto. Niño, Batangas.

Aquino said that the laboratory was run by members of Hong Kong-based Dragonwood syndicate, which is connected to the Golden Triangle drug cartel that operates along the borders of Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos.
