Just a day after its raid on a shabu laboratory in Batangas, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has busted another laboratory in Malabon City, which it said was being used to produce shabu and ecstasy tablets.
PDEA chief Dir. Gen. Aaron Aquino on Friday said the raid on the laboratory located at Barangay Tinajeros, was conducted by operatives from the agency and the Malabon City Police.
Arrested during the raid were a Chinese man identified as John Ming Shen and Lauro Santiago, his Filipino driver.
Seized during the raid were suspected ecstasy tablets, assorted chemicals allegedly used in the manufacture of illegal drugs and other drug paraphernalia.
Aquino said the raid on the Malabon laboratory was a follow-up to Thursday’s raid on the shabu laboratory and warehouse in Ibaan, Sto. Niño, Batangas.

Aquino said the Malabon drug laboratory was operated by members of the Hong Kong-based Dragonwood syndicate. Aquino said the syndicate is also connected to the Golden Triangle drug cartel that operates in the borders of Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos.
The PDEA has yet to conduct a full inventory of the items seized from the laboratory, Aquino said. /muf
