Twenty-six policewomen are all set to compete for this year’s Philippine National Police (PNP) beauty pageant in a bid to represent the various advocacies of the 190,000-strong police force.

The PNP, through the Police Community Relations Group (PCRG), on Thursday launched its search for Ms. PNP Ganda Pulis 2018 (beautiful cop) at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

The candidates represent all 16 police regional offices, five National Capital Region districts, and five national support units.

The candidates will participate in community outreach visits to Bahay Pagbabago in Bataan and Tarlac to distribute livelihood tools to former drug dependents on Friday and Saturday, and hold Pulis Natin Caravan and outreach programs on Saturday in Baguio City.

“The PNP’s search for Ms. PNP Ganda Pulis 2018 is part of strengthening public advocacy in support of the observance of the 2018 National Women’s Month Celebration,” PCRG Director Chief Supt. Rhodel Orden Sermonia said in a statement.

The swimwear and talent competition will be held on Sunday where the best in swimwear and best in talent will be awarded.

The Ganda Pulis gala night will be held on April 21, where candidates will compete for the best in ethnic costume and best in evening gown awards.

The grand finals and coronation night will be held on April 23 at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The candidate who will win the Ms. PNP Ganda Pulis title will represent the PNP as its Goodwill Ambassadress for promoting the PNP’s Recovery and Wellness Program and the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program, as well as other women and children advocacies.

Other special awards will be given are: Ms. Maka-Diyos 2018 (God-fearing), Ms. Makabansa 2018 (nationalist), Ms. Makatao 2018 (humane), and Ms. Makakalikasan 2018 (environmentalist).
