Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez supports the proposed abolition of the National Food Authority (NFA) Council, finding it redundant.
“Personally, I think we don’t need such a council. We already have an NFA administrator,” Alvarez said in a Sunday interview with radio station dzMM.
“Now, if he would only do his job, I don’t think we would have any problem [with the rice supply,” he added.
Alvarez also said he would be open to holding a congressional inquiry on the necessity of the council. —Vince F. Nonato
