An unidentified man shot a woman right after she sold him a bottle of beer at her ‘sari-sari’ store in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, on Saturday night.
Jocelyn Palacpac was declared dead on arrival at FEU-NRMF Medical Center, according to a report to the Quezon City Police District.
The 45-year-old Palacpac was manning her store when the gunman arrived at 9 p.m. on Saturday and asked for a bottle of beer.
He then shot the store owner once in the head and fled.
Supt. Rossel Cejas, Batasan police station commander, told the Inquirer on Sunday that investigators were still trying to find a motive for the shooting.
During questioning, witnesses said the victim did not have any enemies or got into a fight with anyone recently, he said.
“We’re reviewing security footage from the barangay but there were no closed circuit television cameras at the victim’s store [on Sto Niño Street],” Cejas added.
