Life in jail for party drugs suppliers in 2016 summer concert – Parañaque court
A Parañaque City court has meted life imprisonment to two of the five accused in the drug trafficking case in connection to the ill-fated summer concert in 2016 where five people died for drinking party drugs.
Marc David Deen and Seergeoh Villanueva were also ordered by the Paranaque Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 259 on Friday to pay P5 million each, as both were found “guilty beyond reasonable doubt” for their involvement in the Close Up Forever Summer Concert in 2016 tragedy, Radyo Inquirer reported.
The court, meanwhile, sentenced the three other accused — Erica Valbuena, Thomas Halili and Martin Dimacali — to at least 20 years imprisonment, and directed them to pay a fine of P500,000 each.
All were charged with several violations of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed the charges against the five individuals in 2016 after the discovery of their laboratory in a condominium in Parañaque City, which was said to be the source of the illegal drugs sold in the concert. /kga
