A customer of a computer service center was stabbed dead by a technician following a heated argument inside a mall in Quezon City on Thursday.
Police investigators said the customer identified as Geroldo Ramon Lopez was claiming his laptop but he failed to show a copy of the service order, which also served as a claim stub.
Quezon City Police director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said Lopez was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Sioson Hospital due to stabwounds.
Eleazar said the suspect was identified as a certain Leo Laab, who was reportedly the head technician at the computer service center.
Witnesses said the victim went to the store at about 5:30 p.m. to claim his laptop that he had repaired but the store manager refused to give it because Lopez failed to produce the claim stub.
The victim left but returned to a few minutes later and had an argument with Laab, who pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.
The guards immediately brought the victim to the Sioson Hospital but he was pronounced dead at 6:09 p.m.
Laab escaped.
Police have launched a manhunt for his arrest. /jpv
