Quezon City policemen have arrested three drug suspects, including a minor, during a buy-bust operation Wednesday night in Barangay Sta. Monica, Novaliches.

Police officials said the drug bust yielded about P125,000 worth of shabu and firearms.

In a statement on Thursday, Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, QCPD director, identified the suspects as 27-year-old Rommel Jacinto, 19-year-old Rose Marie Ornido, and a 15-year-old male whose name was withheld being a minor.

Eleazar said that Novaliches Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) operatives conducted a buy-bust operation at about 8:30 p.m. along Geronimo Street on Wednesday.

The suspects were apprehended after they made transactions with a poseur buyer who purchased P16,000 worth of shabu.

Upon arrest, SDEU operatives confiscated five sachets of shabu weighing more or less 25 grams with an estimated street value of P125,000. The buy-bust money was also seized.

In addition, authorities confiscated a locally made Shooters caliber .38 revolver and a Smith and Wesson caliber .38 revolver from the suspects.

The suspects were charged for violations of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Eleazar said.

Additional charges for violations of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition would also be filed against Jacinto and Ornido, the QCPD chief said. /jpv
