PAOMBONG, BULACAN-Four children were rescued by residents from a suspected molester on Wednesday (April 4), police said.
Noel Medrano, 34, was arrested by villagers when they encountered four boys aged 8, 9, 10, and 11 years old, who fled from him.
Village watchman Rosauro Santos said Medrano took the children from the streets were they were playing video games, and were brought to a local cemetery.
He later forced them to board a passenger jeep. The children refused and ran off towards a group of people, who quickly detained Medrano.
Medrano has been previously tied to sexual molestation cases, said Chief Insp. Lynelle Solomon, Paombong chief of police.
The police are filing attempted abduction charges against the suspect in relation to Republic Act No. 7610 (protection against child abuse and exploitation). Carmela Reyes Estrope INQ
