Senators set to meet with Duterte on BBL

Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III and Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III would meet with President Rodrigo Duterte to discuss the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), which Mr. Duterte wanted Congress to pass before it adjourns on June 1.

Sotto said the meeting would be attended, too, by those who drafted the proposed BBL.


Sotto told reporters that he expected the discussion with Mr. Duterte to focus on the timetable of Congress for the proposed BBL, which would create a new autonomous region for Muslims in Mindanao.
