ZAMBOANGA CITY – A police officer, who was among alleged rogue Manila police officers assigned to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), was shot dead in Isabela City on Wednesday.
Senior Inspector Aristoedes Nas Marinda, a native of Quiapo, Manila, was on Rizal Avenue in Isabela City when attacked around 5:35 a.m., according to Superintendent Fergen Torred, chief of the Western Mindanao Police Office’s intelligence division.
Marinda had been reassigned to Isabela City under the Task Force Basilan from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) due to standing administrative and criminal charges.
The identity and motive of the assailants remained unclear, Torred said.
