BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — The body of a woman, whose head was wrapped in packaging tape, was found in Aglipay town in Quirino province Tuesday afternoon.
Police have yet to identify the victim, who was found in a grassy roadside cliff in Villa Ventura at about 4 p.m.
The woman is described to be in her mid-50s, with medium build, and about 5 feet 2 inches tall, and with blonde, shoulder-length hair.
The woman was wearing a white long-sleeved blouse, blue denim pants, white pair of sneakers and a white G-Shock wrist watch.
The victim’s hands and feet were also tied with packaging tape.
Senior Insp. Reynold Gonzales, Aglipay police chief, said the victim could have suffocated to death due to the tape since the body bore no signs of wounds or injuries.
“Our crime laboratory agents cannot yet cut open the tape without a relative present,” he said. The police chief said alerts have been sent out to all police stations for reports of missing persons.
Police were alerted on by a local meat vendor who saw the body as he passed by the area.
Investigators believe the victim was killed elsewhere but dumped in the area. They are, however, still gathering witness accounts.
The victim was brought to the La Familia Funeral Homes in Diffun town.
Any information concerning the victim’s identity may be relayed to the Aglipay police. /cbb
