Edsa-QC repairs on weekends to continue until November

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has reminded the public to avoid Edsa, particularly the part of the highway that traverses Quezon City, every weekend to avoid getting caught in traffic.

Starting this week until November, portions of a 1.6-kilometer-long stretch of Edsa will be closed to traffic from Friday night until Monday morning to give way to repairs.

According to Jojo Garcia, MMDA acting general manager, the repairs will be done on just one lane and 200 meters at a time by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

This weekend, the MMDA will close the innermost southbound lane of Edsa from the corner of Eugenio Lopez Drive to just before Scout Borromeo Street.

To avoid being inconvenienced, motorists should use alternate routes in going to their destinations, Garcia said.

The repairs will start every Friday at 11 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. Monday. —Jovic Yee
