The country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers on Wednesday due to localized thunderstorms, the state weather bureau said on Tuesday.

In its advisory issued at 4 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Luzon would experience fair weather in the next 24 hours, but isolated rainshowers were expected in the regions.

Visayas and Mindanao would also experience generally fair weather, but Pagasa said that isolated rainshowers brought by localized thunderstorms were also expected.

Pagasa weather specialist Ariel Rojas said that the current weather system affecting Luzon was the northeasterly surface windflow.

While the windflow was coming from the northeast, Rojas explained that the weather system was different from the northeast monsoon or “hangin amihan.”

No weather disturbance was also monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the next few days, the weather specialist said. /je
