Vice President Leni Robredo is set to travel to Europe this week to attend a series of meetings and forums centered on improving social justice and eliminating poverty.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) said Robredo will be delivering a speech at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) on Friday, April 6.
“Upon the invitation of DESTIN, the student society of LSE’s Department of International Development, the Vice President is expected to discuss the economic and political situation of the Philippines, in particular the state of poverty here and initiatives to address the problem,” the OVP said.
The forum would be attended by students from LSE and other London-based universities. Expected to attend the forum are Filipino students taking up post-graduate studies in London.
Robredo, the OVP added, will also meet with members of the German government and civil society organizations during a study visit program in Berlin, Germany next week.
The program, to be hosted by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) Philippines this April, consists of “a series of discussions on various aspects of governance, aimed at finding sustainable solutions to poverty elimination and social justice,” the statement read. /muf
