LUCENA CITY – Three suspected drug traffickers fell in a buy-bust operation here late Monday afternoon, police said.
Operatives nabbed Ivy Alfajora, 25; Virgie Lamping, 48; and an 18-year-old girl, after selling shabu to an undercover police officer who was accompanied by an informant during the bust at Barangay Ibabang Dupay around 5:45 p.m., said a report by Quezon Police director Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento.
Police said a total of 25 grams of shabu with a street value of P150,000 were seized from the suspects.
Lamping and the 18-year old suspect who is also her daughter-in-law, are both residents of Dasmariñas, Cavite, police said.
“They have long been our targets. They were the source of shabu that was being sold in Barangay Ibabang Dupay and nearby villages,” said Supt. Vicente Cabatingan, Lucena police chief, in a phone interview.
Police said the arrested suspects are now being investigated to uncover the other members of the drug trafficking ring.
Meanwhile, elements of the Quezon police drug enforcement unit arrested Nelson Torres Surquia, 62, following the service of a search warrant at his house in Barangay Cotta Monday night.
Found in Surquia’s house were two grams of shabu worth P12,000 which were placed in 13 plastic sachets, police said.
Also seized from the house were several drug paraphernalia, which according to police, showed that the
the house was also being used as a drug den.
Quezon Police also reported the arrests of three other suspected street-level drug pushers in the towns of Gumaca and Tiaong on Monday. /muf
