1 dead, 3 hurt in multiple-vehicle smashup in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – A woman was killed and three others were injured in a multiple-vehicle collision in Sariaya town in Quezon province early Tuesday morning.

A Manila-bound car was accidentally sideswiped by a Raymond passenger bus, which also consequently hit an incoming jeepney traveling along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Sto Cristo around 3:50 a.m., Sariaya police chief Supt. Rafael Torres said.

A motorcycle was also hit by the wayward car, police said.

The passenger of the ill-fated jeepney, Crislee Bayon Gonzalez, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Gregg Hospital in Sariaya town proper. She was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The jeepney driver, Jomar Padayao Boquiron and his other passenger, Santos Boquiron Ramos; and motorcyclist Alwino Prudencio Lapiña, all suffered injuries.
