Former Ilocos Norte Rep. Roquito “Roque” Ablan Jr. passed away on Monday. He was 85.
His son, Communications Assistant Secretary Kris Ablan, confirmed this in a Facebook post.
“My dad passed away peacefully this morning. Lucky to be at his bedside when he died,” Ablan said. “My dad lived a full 85 years.”
The younger Ablan said his father died of coronary artery disease.
He said the wake for his father would start on Tuesday, March 27, at Chapel 4 of the St. Alphonsus Mary de Liguori Parish, Magallanes Village in Makati.
The older Ablan served for eight terms as representative for the 1st district of Ilocos Norte. /je
