Cops nab 23 alleged outlaws in Quezon raids

LUCENA CITY – Policemen in Quezon province have arrested 23 wanted persons and suspected criminals in simultaneous operations dubbed “Oplan Salikop” early Monday.

Quezon police director Sr. Supt. Rhoderick Armamento said teams of operatives armed with search and arrest warrants specifically collared 18 suspected criminals, and five wanted persons.

He also said authorities seized six illegal firearms of assorted calibers and 120 pieces of ammunition during the raids.

The raiding teams likewise confiscated 4.94 grams of crystal meth or “shabu” valued at P29,640, and 2.44 grams of marijuana, he added.

Armamento said the arrested suspects and wanted persons were detained in different municipal police jails. /kga
