Cebu bar shooting kills guard; German couple, guard, hurt
CEBU CITY–A security guard was killed while a fellow guard and a German couple were wounded when armed men opened fire at a car that was exiting the parking lot of a bar owned by controversial businessman Peter Lim along Archbishop Reyes Avenue, past 1 a.m. on Saturday.
According to Senior Police Officer 3 Wetzel Berry of the Cebu City Police Homicide Section, the security guard identified as Wilson Bucay and was directing the car out of the parking area of the Infinity Bar KTV and Music Lounge when the unidentified gunmen aboard a car appeared and opened fire.
Police said the gunfire immediately killed Bucay and wounded security guard George Lambating, 52. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
An unidentified German couple, who was passing by the area at the time of the shooting, was also hurt. The couple was also rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police are still verifying the identities of the passengers of the car that was shot at. Police said the car, after being shot, sped towards the IT Park in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City. The car was later found abandoned by police. Police said the gunmen fled the scene after the shooting. /muf
