While it may be getting hotter in certain parts of the country, summer, or the onset of the dry season, is still not around, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Weather forecasters on Friday said the northeast monsoon continued to prevail, and there was a possibility that a tropical cyclone may pass through the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) over the Holy Week.
The northeast monsoon continues to bring scattered rains to northern and central Luzon and the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) affects the eastern section of Mindanao, said Analiza Solis, of the Pagasa Climatological and Agrometeorological division.
The LPA may develop into a tropical depression over the weekend and enter the PAR on Monday or Tuesday. –JAYMEE T. GAMIL
