Revilla asks SC to stop his Sandiganbayan trial

Detained former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. has again asked the Supreme Court to stop his trial in the Sandiganbayan so he would no longer present his defense for his P224.5-million plunder case.

The actor-politician told the high court that the Sandiganbayan had ordered him to present his evidence to refute the 5,134 pieces of evidence admitted by the antigraft court.

Revilla claimed the prosecution failed to present evidence to show his “overt acts” of plunder, aside from his endorsement of the nongovernment organization linked to alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles. —DONA Z. PAZZIBUGAN
