‘I Obey’ campaign kicks off in Cotabato

COTABATO CITY — The Sangguniang Panlungsod here launched a campaign on Monday to instill discipline and minimize law violations among residents here.

Vice Mayor Graham Nasser Dumama, however, said he expected the campaign, called “I Obey,” to face a huge challenge as influential people would find ways to skirt the law.

He said local officials were hoping that the campaign would help stop all kinds of violations — from simple traffic rules to the national ban on smoking.

“We are aware of the gargantuan task but change must first start within us,” Dumama said. He urged the city’s leaders to “walk the talk” so others would follow . —Charlie Senase
