Poe: I’ll never trust someone like Napoles
How could you trust someone like Janet Lim-Napoles?
“Ako, hindi ko siya mapapagkatiwalaan (Me, I will never trust her),” Senator Grace Poe told reporters on Wednesday as she continued to question the inclusion of Napoles, alleged mastermind of the so-called pork barrel scam, in the government’s Witness Protection Program (WPP).

“Di ko alam papaano siya mapapagkatiwalaan na ang alam naman natin self-preservation na o iligtas ang kanyang sarili ang magiging pangunahing konsiderasyon niya,” she said.
(I do not know how to trust her knowing that her primary consideration is self-preservation or just to save herself.)

(It’s just like that, self-preservation, so why give premium to the testimony of a person embroiled in this corruption.)
“Wala na ba tayong pwedeng ibang makuha na ebidensya laban dito? Kailangan yun ang gawin nating prime source of our convictions para dito sa iba…? Please wag naman natin gawing basehan yun,” the senator added.
(Don’t we have anyone else to get evidence from regarding this case? We really need to do this as the prime source of our convictions, right..? Please let us not make this our basis.)
In a statement Monday, Poe already questioned why Napoles is getting a “special treatment.”
Napoles’ provisional admission into the WPP took effect last February 27 but the news about it was only reported last week.
She remained detained, however, at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City pending her request to be transferred under the government’s custody. /jpv
