Teen jumps off building in Tuguegarao City
BAYOMBONG, NUEVA VIZCAYA—A senior high school student allegedly leapt to her death from a school building in Tuguegarao City on Tuesday morning (Mar. 20), police said.
The 17-year-old Grade 11 student of FL Vargas College supposedly jumped off the fourth floor of the school’s main building after completing the morning’s first class period.
In a recent Facebook post, the victim hinted she was going through turbulent times: “Nasa point na ako ng life na kahit gaano kashit yung nangyayari sakin, ngiti ko na lang palagi yung sagot ko sa mga tao (I have come to a point in life when I reply to everything with a smile despite the bad things happening to me).”
This is the second case in a week of an apparent suicide involving high school teenagers in Cagayan province.
On Wednesday (Mar. 14), an 18-year-old male hung himself in Maraburab village in Alcala town allegedly over anxieties about not graduating from senior high school.
