The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) has filed a petition seeking accreditation from the Commission on Elections as its citizens’ arm in the May 14 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls.
The PPCRV served as the poll body’s citizens arm in the October 2013 village polls and in the May 2016 national and local elections.
In its petition, the poll watchdog cited its “mass-based” national constituency and “unparalleled performance” as among the reasons why it should be accredited.
“PPCRV has a mass-based national constituency composed of individuals of voting age and registered voters, with operating chapters based in the various parishes in provinces, cities and municipalities throughout the country,” read its petition filed on March 1.
