Malacañang will not interfere on the decision of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to place alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles under the government’s Witness Protection Program (WPP).
“We leave it to the DOJ,” presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a phone interview with INQUIRER.net on Friday.
Roque said the Palace is letting the DOJ do its job as long as it follows proper procedure.
“Basta sundin nila ang batas at sundin nila na procedure [As long as they abide by the law and follow the procedure],” he said.
On Friday, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II confirmed that Napoles has been placed under the provisional coverage of the government’s Witness Protection Program. /jpv
