Motorcycle-riding gunmen struck again in Caloocan City, killing three men, two of them tricycle drivers, between Monday and Tuesday.
None of the victims were on their respective barangays’ watchlist, according to Senior Insp. Dennis Odtuhan, Northern Caloocan police investigation unit chief.
He identified the victims as Allan Alday, 37; Arnold Martinez, 43, both tricycle drivers; and Isagani Opiasa, 34. Alday was driving his tricycle on Camarin Road, Barangay 178, at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday when he was shot twice in the head by the assailants.
Odtuhan said Alday was a known thug in the area who often threatened residents with a knife.
In another attack, Martinez was waiting at the tricycle terminal on Malolos Avenue, Bagong Barrio, when he was shot at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
PO1 Ariel dela Cruz said the killing was witnessed by Martinez’s son, who took his father to the hospital, where the victim was declared dead on arrival.
Opiasa, meanwhile, was shot six times while driving his motorcycle in Barangay Bagong Silang just before midnight Monday.
The police said they were looking into reports that the victim had an affair with a married woman. —Krixia Subingsubing
