The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) sent aircraft accident investigators after a trainer plane owned and operated by WCC Aviation crashed near Pangasinan’s Binalonan airport around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The plane, a Cessna C152 series with registry number RP-C53, was damaged by fire resulting from the crash, according to CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio.
He said the plane crashed near a runway of the Binalonan Airport in the village of Linmasangan just seconds after takeoff.
The plane carried two passengers, a flight instructor and student pilot.
The pilot and student pilot suffered second degree burns but were safe. —Jerome Aning
