Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has ordered the creation of a new panel of prosecutors that will review the resolution dismissing the drug cases against businessman Peter Lim, self-confessed drug distributor Kerwin Espinosa, and several others.

“I ordered the creation of a new panel that will handle the review of the DOJ’s reso on Peter Lim’s case,” Aguirre said in a text message on Tuesday.

Aguirre said the panel would handle the motion for reconsideration filed by the police last month.

The panel will be composed of Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Juan Pedro Navera, Assistant State Prosecutor Ana Noreen Devanadera and Prosecuting Attorney Herbert Calvin Abugan.

Aguirre said the prosecutors were recommended by acting Prosecutor General Jorge Catalan.

The resolution dismissing the case against Lim and the others was signed in December last year. /atm
