2 hurt as training aircraft crashes in Pangasinan airport
A training aircraft crash-landed in a village near Binalonan airport in Pangasinan a few seconds after its take off, leaving two persons partly burned, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) disclosed on Tuesday.
The CAAP said a Cessna C152 aircraft, owned by WCC Aviation, sustained 40 percent burn from the cabin to half of the aircraft’s tail assembly after it crashed in Barangay Linmansangan near Binalonan airport’s runway 35 at 7:30 a.m.
Two passengers, a flight instructor and a trainee, sustained injuries following the crash, the agency said.
“The aircraft’s flight plan identified two passengers, a flight instructor and a student pilot, who are now both conscious and safe. Both sustained 2nd degree burns and are being taken care of at the Sacred Heart Medical Center in Urdaneta, Pangasinan,” the CAAP said.
The CAAP’s Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board has launched an investigation into the crash to determine its cause, it added. /kga
