Two suspected members of Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) have been arrested following two separate operations in Zamboanga City, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Monday.

In a press conference, NBI Director Dante Gierran identified the members of ASG as Hood Abdullah aka Jiking and Jimmy Bla aka Bin Laden.

Gierran said that the suspected terrorists were arrested in Zamboanga City on Feb. 27 by a virtue of an arrest warrant for Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention with Ransom cases back on June 11, 2001.

Also present in the press conference were Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, PNP Chief Supt. John Bulalacao, and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Spokesperson BGen. Bienvenido Datuin. /je
