The Quezon City police arrested nine drug suspects and seized a total of 25 sachets of “shabu” (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations across the city between Thursday and Friday morning.
Of the nine arrested, three were on the police drug watch list, according to a report to Quezon City District Director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar.
It is yet unknown whether the arrested suspects had previous criminal records, Eleazar said.
First to be arrested were Ernesto Hizon and Ely Fernandez who were nabbed at 7 p.m. on Thursday in front of their residence in Barangay Tatalon.
Confiscated from them were four sachets of suspected shabu.
Bernabe Amante, 23, was arrested in Barangay Escopa 3 by Project 4 police at 8:30 p.m. with three sachets of shabu.
Amante was also on the Project 4 police watch list.
Live-in partners Jefferson Navarro, 35, and Charina Mallari, 30, were arrested by police 30 minutes later in Barangay Commonwealth in possession of two sachets of shabu.
Cubao police also collared Alberto Patelo in a convenience store in Barangay San Martin de Porres at 9:30 p.m. after being caught with eight sachets of shabu.
Rolly Cepe, 30, was arrested in Barangay Holy Spirit by Batasan police at 10 p.m. Seized from him were six sachets of shabu.
In Barangay E. Rodriguez, Anonas police arrested watch list personalities Randy Aba-a, 37, and Rosario Bilangel, 55, at 1:30 a.m. on Friday after being caught in possession of two sachets of shabu.
They will all face charges of violation of Republic Act No. 9165.—KRIXIA SUBINGSUBING
