A nursing student was charged for allegedly threatening to upload  nude  photos of a Filipino-American on the Internet.

The case stemmed from the complaint of 19-year-old  Fil-American Kevin Mills. Mills’ mother is a Filipina.

Mills arrived in Cebu six months ago and planned to enroll in a nursing course.   Mills said he and Silao became friends through the social networking site Facebook.

FEATURED STORIES

Mills said he thought Silao was a woman as Silao  introduced himself as Colin Garcia.

Mills said they became close until he discovered Silao’s  real identity and realized  he had been misled.  When he started avoiding Silao,  the nursing student threatened to embarrass him by  uploading nude photos he earlier shared on the Internet, according to Mills.  Mills then sought help from police.

Silao was arrested  after he agreed to meet Mills at the Mango Square last Thursday night. Silao admitted threatening Mills so he could recover his cell phone from Mills.

Silao said the phone belongs to  his mother./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
